Pop Culture Time
As a service to you, our dear readers, we’re going to spend today going over some pop culture topics of interest – because its important that you know where we stand.
- Premiere of So You Think You Can Dance: Support it. Strongly. However, if Wade Robson will be sitting out this year again our interest immediately drops. Also, we think that ballet and interpretive should be dropped (unless Robson is the choreographer) and more hip-hop and crunk added.
- Jon & Kate Plus 8: Can this go away? I swear – this show is such horrible exploitation. These poor kids are screwed. No longer able to get their own identities, they’ll be the kids-from-that-show-where-the-dad-cheated-on-the-mom-and-the-whole-country-got-to-watch-the-terrible-break-up. Live. Did anyone stop and think that maybe great parenting doesn’t involve shoving a camera in your kids’ face. Also, you know who else had 8 kids? My grandparents. Not impressed.
- Real Housewives of New Jersey: Danielle sucks.
- Winner of American Idol: A travesty that we were over 3 minutes after the announcement.
- Manny Ramirez Steroid Suspension: Don’t care. Actually, ESPN, could you please note that no one gives a shit about steroids anymore? Can we stop treating it like Manny just bombed Pearl Harbor then killed a bunch of baby seals before eating a California Condor?
- Brett Farve’s comeback attempt: ESPN, see above. All the goodwill I had built up towards Farve is long gone. I’m sick of him and I’m really sick of Trey Wingo.
- North Korea’s Nuclear Posturing: Sick of it. Real sick of it. Wouldn’t be a problem if Truman wouldn’t have been too much of a pussy-wimp to let MacArthur go in there and blow out those Commie bastards. And if you can tell me what movie I just ripped off, bonus points.
- Twilight/New Moon/The Stupid Third One: Seriously? Do people seriously like this? Its vampires, it’s nothing new. It’s been done. Come on. If you keep going, they’re gonna keep making them. Also, I don’t care how cloudy it is, if you’re a vampire, you can’t be outside. Those are the rules. Those of you who’ve gotten the horrible cloud burns (sunburns when its cloudy, complete let down) know this for a fact, UV is still getting through. Dammit! We need to stop supporting vampires! Its awful!
